Pipeline Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Pipeline Engineer who is ready to take on challenging projects and deliver outstanding results for our clients. This role would suit someone with strong experience in engineering consulting and EPCM projects in the mining and resources sectors.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Work in accordance with Ausenco's values and demonstrate commitment, active involvement and leadership regarding safety, sustainability, client, people and financial accountabilities.
  • Plan and coordinate complex engineering design assignments entailing technical specifications and detailed planning, recommending changes to specification or design engineering policy as appropriate.
  • Define and recommend design methods, specifications and performance or functional requirements for projects.
  • Coordinates reviews with other disciplines and departments , Reviews and coordinates documents from other disciplines, customer and outside agencies.
  • Plan and coordinate engineering design according to required project timeframes and standards by adhering to design specifications and reviewing design produced by graduate engineers
  • Contribute to project scope of work, technical specification, design criteria, project deliverable list and monitor deliverables issue date
  • Effectively apply [Company] methodology and adhere to project standards and provide advice and coaching to developing engineers on the methodology and standards.
  • Prepare simple plans, designs, calculations and cost estimates for conventional engineering, research and development assignments
  • Use codes, standards, drawings and other specifications and provide advice and coaching to developing engineers.
  • Gather measurements, record observations, perform calculations and basic analysis, and prepare reports on assignments
  • Assists in gathering measurements and data at site locations
  • Draft sections of reports and review work by less experienced engineers
  • Prepare equipment lists and material lists, drawing lists and files
  • Gather field information, dimensions and other data at site locations and provide advice and coaching to developing engineers.
  • Field (site) assignments and provide support to less experienced staff while onsite
  • Comply with relevant business management system (or quality) policies & procedures.
  • Knows technical issues related to discipline and how to discuss with customers, suppliers, and regulators.
  • Knows how to coordinate technical issues within discipline, with other disciplines, and with engineering staff
  • Engineering discipline deliverables are completed according to the standards, checked and available for issue to other disciplines (internal) and to client (external)
  • Liaise and coordinate the transfer of information and data from consultants where these interface with engineering design
  • Ensure engineering discipline design is consistent with the scope and objectives
  • Review information, select and justify data from laboratory and consultants' work where these interface with engineering design
  • Update the company's technical knowledge and database
  • Liaise with construction personnel for hand-over of plants to the required state of operability by carrying out inspections, start-up and ramp-up procedures, conducting performance trials, and resolving issues where required and training Owner's personnel


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (or international equivalent).
  • 6+ years' experience developed mostly in Pipeline or slurry transportation projects working with an engineering consulting firm or similar environment; construction experience is also desirable
  • Prior experience in industry related operations or construction
  • Have participated in project design reviews.
  • Understanding of Bid processes and procurement is a plus.
