Project Manager, Maritime Asset Management

[Company] has an exciting new opportunity for a Project Manager, Maritime Asset Management, Transportation and Logistics (T & L) in Vancouver. In this role the Project Manager will assist the Director of Maritime Asset Management in the execution of maritime and terminal structural and materials handling inspection, rehabilitation and asset management projects as well as manage small maritime related projects.

Responsibilities
  • Participates and supervises field crews for above water and underwater industrial pier and dock structural inspection and condition evaluations.
  • Participates and supervises field crews for the structural and mechanical inspection of materials handling and shiploading equipment.
  • Commits to working with field crews with an emphasis on safety, thoroughness, equality and comradery.
  • Interfaces with clients' maintenance personnel and project managers.
  • Reviews inspection results and provides recommendations on field data and/or design issues including repair estimates and residual life estimates.
  • Prepares inspection reports and project memoranda.
  • Prepares field safe work and dive plans.
  • Monitors project execution plans, budgets and schedules.
  • Prepares designs, plans and specifications for rehabilitation projects.
  • Responsible for engineering modelling and computational analysis for load and capacity ratings.
  • Is available to travel and work or attend meetings outside of normal working hours, approximately 1-2 weeks per month.
  • Provide input into proposals and assist with BD tasks.


Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree or diploma with background in civil, structural, and/or mechanical/materials handling
  • 5 to 10 years' experience in maritime terminal infrastructure and equipment inspection and design roles in related industries.
  • Experience in inspection and structural analysis of waterfront structures. Specific knowledge of maritime structures, coastal processes, inspections, remediation designs, structural analysis, and construction supervision.
  • P.Eng. is preferred or A.Sc.T. at a minimum
  • Preference will be given to those with accredited commercial dive certification
  • Valid drivers' licence is required
  • Boat operators' certificate is preferred
  • Experience with the use of Microsoft Office in addition to the preparation of written reports, specifications and correspondence (both internal and external) a must.
  • Preference given to capability to use AutoCad and structural modelling software.
